Certainly an interesting idea. Obviously the main focus of this is the major revenue generating sports, and the solution envisions external capital taking a stake in the entire NCAA sports system. Do you think there's a business case for an investor to take an equity stake in an individual sport and spin it out of the main NCAA system? A lot of the Olympic sports as mentioned in this piece have been historically neglected, so I'd be curious if there was a scenario where an investor could spin out a sport - say swimming or tennis for an undervalued amount and then optimize that previously neglected sport. Would be a potentially bigger investor pool as investment size would be less than including everything. Curious what your thoughts on the pros/cons of this would be. Great article.
